Lake Of Rage is Gyarados Lake under a bad omen: a wild northern water stop where the red Gyarados, Lance, hidden shoreline prizes, and Mahogany’s strange radio signal all meet.
Lake of Rage feels wrong the moment you reach the water. The sign calls it Gyarados Lake, the locals are nervous, and everyone has heard the same rumor: a red Gyarados is thrashing out in the middle of the lake. This is not just a scenic stop north of Route 43. It is the moment Mahogany Town's mystery finally becomes impossible to ignore.
Surf out when you are ready. The lake has ordinary Magikarp and Gyarados in the water, but the red Gyarados is the reason you came.
The red Gyarados waits on the lake as a level 30 special encounter. Battle it like a real prize: catch it if you want a rare shiny partner, or defeat it if you only care about moving on. Either way, you receive the RED SCALE afterward.
When the battle ends, Lance appears by the shore. He has been following the same rumors and believes the lake's Magikarp are being forced to evolve by a strange radio signal from Mahogany. Agree to help him, then follow the trail back to Mahogany Mart 1F.
Do not leave as soon as Lance flies off. The lake has a lot tucked around its edges.
The trainers here feel like they were pulled in by the same rumors you were. Fisher Andre brings a level 27 Gyarados, Fisher Raymond has four level 22 Magikarp, Cooltrainer Aaron carries Ivysaur, Charmeleon, and Wartortle at level 24, and Cooltrainer Lois has Skiploom and Ninetales at level 25.
The water itself has Magikarp and Gyarados. Later, Headbutt trees can turn up Caterpie, Metapod, Exeggcute, Butterfree, and rare Pineco.
Once the red Gyarados is handled and Lance asks for your help, Lake of Rage stops being a rumor and becomes a lead. Return south through Route 43 to Mahogany Town, then check the mart. The strange broadcast from the lake is coming from somewhere nearby, and Lance is already waiting.
