Route 44
12 wild Pokémon across 4 encounter methods. 11 trainer battles.
Route 44 Guide
Route 44 is the long eastern road out of Mahogany, pushing you toward Ice Path and the final badge city.
Travel the route
This route links Mahogany Town and Ice Path 1F. It feels like a late-game road on purpose, with fewer frills and a stronger sense that Blackthorn is next.
What matters here
What matters here is momentum. Once you take Route 44 seriously, you are basically choosing to finish the eastern Johto badge line and move toward Clair.
Come back later
Return when you need the most direct route from Mahogany into the Blackthorn approach or want a late-game trainer road that still runs cleanly.

Phone Swarms

After you share phone numbers, come back here while the swarm is active.
Roaming Pokémon

Possible roamers
Raikou, Entei, Suicune can move through this route once they are released.
Check your Pokégear map, then hunt on land when one is nearby.
Route changes
A roaming beast can move to a nearby route when you change areas, and it can also jump somewhere else.
If it is not here anymore, step between nearby routes and check again.
Nearby jumps
From here, a beast usually moves toward Route 42, Route 43, Route 45.
Use nearby routes to keep chasing without flying away.
Land only
The beasts stay out of Surf encounters, so they do not pop up while you are surfing.
Hunt in grass or on land instead of riding across water.
Map Movement Tips
These clues come from the map tiles, so they are handy when you are planning which moves or paths matter here.
Surf opens water paths here
Water tiles can become paths once you can Surf.
Bring a Surf user after earning Fog Badge if you want every shoreline path.
One-way ledges shape the route
These ledges let you jump down but not climb back up from the same spot.
Look before you hop if you are collecting items or avoiding trainers.
