Route 2 Guide
Route 2 is the western north-south Kanto road, wrapping Viridian, Pewter, and Diglett's Cave into one travel line.
Travel the route
Route 2 is Kanto's old forest-edge road, but in the postgame it becomes a treasure strip between Viridian City, Pewter City, and Diglett's Cave. Cut trees and gates break it into pieces, so sweep it carefully instead of treating it as one hallway.
What to find
Battle Bug Catchers Rob, Ed, and Doug, then collect Dire Hit, Max Potion, Carbos, Elixer, the PSNCUREBERRY tree, and hidden Max Ether, Full Heal, Full Restore, and Revive. The grass keeps Caterpie, Metapod, Butterfree, Pidgey, Pidgeotto, Pikachu, Hoothoot, Spinarak, Noctowl, and Ariados in play.

Return when you want western Kanto cleanup, Diglett's Cave access, hidden-item hunting, or a route that turns old Viridian Forest memories into a compact postgame sweep.
