Route 27 Guide

Route 27 is the bridge route where Johto spills into Kanto, with the long east river, the route to Tohjo Falls, and one of the clearest region-border feelings in the game.

Travel the route

Route 27 is the first road that proves Johto was not the whole world. Surf east from New Bark Town, cross into Kanto, and the route answers with bridges, trainers, water, and Tohjo Falls.

What to find

Pick up TM22 and Rare Candy, visit the Sandstorm house, and battle Cooltrainers Blake, Brian, Reena, Megan, Psychic Gilbert, and Bird Keeper Jose. The grass and water bring Doduo, Raticate, Ponyta, Sandslash, Quagsire, Tentacool, and Tentacruel, with stronger fishing on the shore.

Return with a reason

Return when you want the border road, the Tohjo Falls crossing, or the moment where Johto quietly becomes Kanto under your feet.
